About the editor, & what this site is for.

Hi, I'm Anelya. I'm a working professional in my forties writing honestly about peptides, women's health, and the parts of self-experimentation that nobody is publishing under their real name.

I started Pep In Step because the most useful conversations I was having about peptides — about dosing, cycling, side effects, what worked, what didn't, what was worth running labs for — were all happening in DMs, in throwaway-account subreddits, and in coffees with two specific friends. None of them were happening in writing, in public, under anyone's real name. So I started writing.

The site is a mirror of the Substack — same posts, same order, same writer. It exists for two reasons. One, so the back issues are findable from a search engine, by readers who don't know yet that they're looking for it. Two, so the writing has a permanent home that isn't anyone else's platform.

What this site is

  • A record of one person's self-experiments with peptides, written carefully, with citations.
  • A place for reader letters from other women who would rather not post on Reddit.
  • An archive — fast, static, search-engine readable, with no popups and no tracking.

What this site is not

  • Medical advice. I am not a clinician. None of what's here is a recommendation for what you should do; it is a record of what I have done.
  • A store. I do not sell peptides. I do not sell supplements. I do not have an affiliate code for anything.
  • Anonymous. I write under my real name. That is the whole point.

A note on writing under my real name

I get asked about this a lot. The short version: the reason you cannot find good writing on this topic from women is precisely because the women who could write it well don't, because the cost of being publicly associated with self-experimentation is asymmetric for us. I understand that. I am writing under my real name anyway because I think the asymmetry only changes if some of us do.
